Mike
Anderson, LICSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Adult Services Clinical Supervisor
|
Mike obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in Decorah, IA, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. Mike has been employed at the Northwestern Mental Health Center since 1996. He provides psychotherapy services at the Centers’ Crookston and Fosston sites. Mike enjoys working with teens, families, adults and couples. He also facilitates the Domestic Abuse Treatment Program for men who have been abusive to their partners. Mike has advanced training in the areas of serious and persistent mental illness, men’s issues, relationship issues, depression and domestic violence. Mike is married to Brenda, who also works at the Northwestern Mental Health Center as the Director of Family & Children’s Services. A transplanted “Cheesehead” Mike has grown to love life on the prairie. He lives with Brenda and their two young children in Crookston. Mike enjoys reading, photography, music, traveling, playing golf and watching sports.

Jodi Boerger, Psy.D.,
LP Clinical Child Psychologist

Dr. Jodi Boerger is a clinical child psychologist with specialized training in play therapy, early childhood mental health and neuropsychological testing. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the Institute of Child Development, within the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, and a Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Clinical Child Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California. Jodi completed an APA-accredited internship at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis where she completed the Child Psychiatric and Pediatric In-Patient Rotations. Currently she sees children aged 2 to 17 years of age in the Crookston office and is the Early Childhood Specialist on a grant to develop an early childhood mental health system of care within a five county region in northwestern Minnesota. Jodi’s goal in working with children is to assess each child’s unique strengths and weaknesses, and to help the child’s support system focus on those strengths to help the child succeed across all settings. |

Don Christie, M.Ed.,
M.A., LICSW Clinical Director

Don Christie
is the
Clinical Director of the Outpatient Program at the Northwestern Mental
Health Center. He is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and
holds a Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health Counseling from North Dakota
State University, and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Psychology
from California State University in Northridge. He has worked as a
psychotherapist for 24 years and his current practice focuses primarily on
adult mental health issues including relationship counseling. Don has
special interest in the joining of spiritual, philosophical and phase of
life problems with more traditional mental health issues. He also has
extensive experience in chemical dependency and domestic abuse issues.
Don lives in Crookston, and has worked at the Mental Health Center for 14 years. He has two adult daughters and five grandchildren. He enjoys listening to and playing music (piano and guitar), reading, writing, motorcycling, canoeing, and exploring spiritual issues.

Michal Jorgens, Psy.D.,

|
Dr. Michal Jorgens
is a licensed
clinical psychologist. She works with a wide range of individuals, and
specializes in working with the most severe disabilities. She earned a
doctorate in clinical psychology from Minnesota School of Professional
Psychology/Argosy University in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Dr. Jorgens
works part of the week in the outpatient clinic doing testing, psychological
evaluation and individual therapy. She is also the Director of residential
services for the Mental Health Center’s programs at Northwestern Apartments
in Crookston. Dr. Jorgens has an extensive background in developmental
disabilities, having provided administration and consultation to such
programs for over 15 years. She was appointed to and served on the
Governor’s Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities. Michal’s APA
internship training included forensic evaluation, inpatient psychiatric
treatment and assessment, and assessment and treatment of developmentally
disabled adults.
Dr.
Jorgens has served as an adjunct faculty at University of Minnesota,
Crookston, since 1995.

Shannon Kronlund,

Shannon
Kronlund is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker. She obtained
both her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Social Work from the University of
North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.
Shannon has been employed at the Northwestern Mental Health Center, Inc. since 2002 and completed her Masters internship here as well. Shannon enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. She also greatly enjoys working with families and was previously a part of the Children and Family Services division of the Northwestern Mental Health Center, Inc. as a Professional In-Home Family Therapist. Shannon has specialized training in play-therapy and Functional Family Therapy. She has office hours in both Crookston and East Grand Forks. |

Thea Rothmann, PhD, LP Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Adult Services Clinical Supervisor

Dr. Thea Rothmann is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her doctoral and master’s degrees at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska and went on to complete her internship at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, Maine. Previously, Thea obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish in 2001 from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. Thea provides outpatient psychotherapy and psychological assessment in the Crookston and Ada clinics. In the Adult Services’ Division, she provides leadership and supervision for Crisis Services, Illness Management & Recovery, Employability, and other areas. |

James Schober, M.A., LP Licensed Psychologist

Jim Schober is a Licensed Psychologist (Master’s Level) and has worked at the Northwestern Mental Health Center for over 13 years. Before his employment at NWMHC, Jim was employed as a Psychologist in Grand Forks for five years. Jim is originally from the Twin Cities but now calls the Red River Valley his “home”. Jim’s primary interest and competency is with children and adolescents. Also, he works with adults. Jim has a special interest in evaluating/assessing clients with possible ADHD or ADD. Other interest and competency areas includes therapy with clients who present with – trauma (abuse), depression, Aspergers syndrome, anxiety, anger, adjustment to divorce and grief/loss. Also, Jim administers Psychological Evaluations – child, teen, and adult which includes personality, cognitive/IQ and adaptive behavior functioning. Jim is an avid Viking fan, follows Sioux sports, and spends a lot of time with his family which includes two teenagers. Additionally, he loves the outdoors which includes fishing, biking, hiking, and gardening. |

Nancy Trickey, MSW,

Nancy Trickey
is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She obtained her bachelor
and Master degrees at the University of North Dakota. She has been working
at NW Mental Health Center since 1997. Nancy provides psychotherapy
services in Crookston, East Grand Forks and Mahnomen MN. She enjoys serving
adults, couples, teens, and families. She has experience in disaster
service, crisis intervention, and community organization. Nancy has
specific training in Functional Family Therapy, Evidenced Based Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She
has experience working with diverse ethnic, spiritual, cultural and economic
populations.
Nancy spends her free time with family and friends. She loves time at the lake, outdoors with the grandchildren, and traveling anywhere. |

Dan Wilson, LICSW Licensed Independent Clinic Social Worker

Dan Wilson has
served as the Executive Director for the Northwestern Mental Health Center
since August of 1986. Prior to that time, he was the Executive Director of
the Polk County Developmental Achievement Center from 1981 to 1986, during
which time he also taught two semesters of Social Work Administration at the
University of North Dakota. He served as the Assistant Director for the
Northwestern Mental Health Center from 1973 to 1978 working closely with
Developmental Achievement Centers as well as with the development of ICF/MR
facilities in the region. From 1978 to 1981 he served as the Assistant
Director for Mental Health, focusing on the development of the Community
Support Program and Northwestern Apartments. Mr. Wilson holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the Tulane University School of Social Work in New Orleans attending under a fellowship with the National Institute of Mental Health. He received a Bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1967, during which time he also worked for Northeast Neighborhood Services, a youth and family services organization. He served in the United States Peace Corps in Montevideo, Uruguay from 1969 to 1972 providing rehabilitation services at the Escuela Taller de Recuperacion Ocupacional. |
